Where do I start?
All brand new pole students must start with our 90 minute Pole Introduction Workshop before moving on to our Pole Divas classes. The workshop is designed to show you basic strengthening moves, fundamental body form, and beginner moves and transitions around the pole that are built into a class routine. Students are welcome to try any non-pole class before taking the Pole Introduction Workshop.
Is it really a workout?
From your first spin on a pole, you'll discover how much fun this workout is. And since you're having fun, you won't even realize that it is indeed, quite a tough workout. With various moves, spins, tricks and sexy play, you'll discover how your upper body and arms, core and leg muscles start to tone very quickly.
I have no upper body strength. Will I be able to take pole classes?
If you think this, then guess what, so have countless other women! The great thing about beginning pole classes is that all of the moves involve holding your weight down the pole, just like a reverse pullup! And since you are working out your whole body, you really will discover how quickly you build strength and start seeing those beautiful newly toned bicep and shoulder muscles!
What is the normal age of your students?
We have women of all ages attend classes! Our minimum age is 18, but we will accept a parental waiver for students slightly younger. Our oldest student to come in and give it a "spin" is 68! The majority of our regular students range from their late 20s to late 40s.
What should I wear?
Don't worry, there is no nudity in pole fitness! When you are first starting out, your regular gym or yoga clothing will be fine for classes. We recommend shorts for pole classes, as leg skin exposure is necessary for numerous pole moves.
A typical outfit for more advanced workouts are a sports bra and booty shorts. For footwear, you should plan to be barefoot for your first few classes. High heeled shoes and boots may also be worn, but are not recommended until you've taken a few classes and are starting to control your movement around the pole. Wearing the heels does help engage the calf muscles during your workout, as well contribute to your sexy feeling. Boots also provide ankle and foot protection from the pole, and help to grip the pole better when climbing and doing inverted moves. The studio offers a line of workout clothing, shoes and boots that you may wear during classes.
Finally, do not to use lotions or oils before class, as that will make your pole slippery! We also ask you to limit jewelry and remove any rings or metal wrist jewelry during pole class to avoid scratching and nicking the poles.

Is there a lot of cardio in pole classes?
Pole classes typically involve spins, climbs, dance moves and floor work, which provide an interval training workout. Interval training is defined as a period of intensely difficult exercises followed by a period of rest, and is acknowledged to be one of the best ways to burn fat and improve cardiovascular fitness.
You may not experience the typical sweating you would have with a pure cardio workout, but practice a routine one or two times, and you will be huffing and puffing!
My main goal is to lose weight. What are the best classes to take?
To lose weight, you must do three things: burn calories, build muscle and eat right! Booty Camp and ZUMBA classes will get you moving and burning calories from cardio. Chairlates also provides a good mix of muscle burning and toning (focusing on the lower body) and cardio. And pole classes will drastically transform your body if you stay motivated with our program! I noticed you have some coed classes. Are other women ok with that?
Alot of women initially think that men are just in class to watch. But our COED pole classes can provide some of the most fun workouts! Most men who come to their first class quickly realize what a challenging work out it is, and they get inspired to learn new tricks just like women! Our COED classes focus solely on strength building and learning moves and tricks, so there's never a need to worry about doing
sexy moves in front of the men! We have also had men attend our Yoga classes, which is a standard practice at studios and gyms.
